cabins of old were closed in; the plan of this cabin opens
to the view by use of a forest of log columns. The plan consists
of flanking the main living areas by more traditional handscribed
logs stacked on two sides. Creative detailing eliminated the
most problematic issue – settling – by allowing
the two construction methods to coexist with a minimum of
settling jacks.
